The rules for using Screen Night, in plain language. The most important part is short: be decent to the people you connect with, or you won’t be able to keep using Friends.
Effective 30 September 2026
Screen Night is made by Red Rock Apps LLC, a Colorado company (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us about using the app and the service behind it. They work alongside Apple’s Standard License Agreement, which covers your license to the app itself. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
By using Screen Night you agree to these terms. By setting up Friends you also agree to the rules in section 04, which exist because Friends shows your name and activity to other people.
Screen Night Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID. It renews automatically at the price shown when you subscribed unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A free trial, when offered, becomes a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before then.
You manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings, not in Screen Night. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. Deleting your Screen Night account does not cancel a subscription, which is why the app asks you to cancel first.
Promo codes unlock Screen Night for the account that redeems them. Each can be used once and has no cash value.
Friends lets you connect with people you know and see what each other is watching. It only works if people can trust it, so when you use Friends you agree not to:
You can block anyone. Blocking removes the connection both ways, stops their requests and notifications, and hides you from each other. They are not told.
You can report anyone. Reports come to us, and the person you report isn’t told who reported them. We review every report within 24 hours. If someone has broken these rules we remove what they posted, and we may suspend or delete their account, without warning. Names that break these rules may also be refused when they’re entered.
When you connect with someone, they can see your name and avatar, the shows you’re watching and how far along you are, the shows you’ve finished, the shows you loved or liked, and the shows you recommend to them — along with the day you last watched or rated each one, and how many episodes you’ve watched, in all and recently. They never see your email address, your phone number, your watch list, or the shows you didn’t like. You can hide a single show, pause sharing entirely, or remove a friend at any time. Your invite link, and any show you recommend from Screen Night, lets whoever opens it connect with you straight away, so share them with people you know. If one ends up somewhere you didn’t mean it to, choose Replace Invite Link in Friends Settings: old links stop working, and friends stay friends.
What you share remains yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the friends you’ve connected with, only so that Friends can work, and that permission ends when you stop sharing or delete your account.
Show and episode details, air times and posters come from TVmaze, a community-maintained database, and can be incomplete, late or wrong. Networks move schedules without notice. Screen Night isn’t affiliated with TVmaze, IMDb, or any network or streaming service, and their names and trademarks belong to their owners.
Don’t break the law with Screen Night, and don’t try to break Screen Night: no interfering with the service, getting around the subscription, automated or bulk access, collecting other people’s data, or reverse engineering the app except where the law allows it.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time (Settings → Delete Account), and everything tied to it goes with it, as the Privacy Policy describes. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other people or the service at risk. If we stop offering Screen Night altogether, we’ll give reasonable notice in the app where we can.
Screen Night is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or right about every episode. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about Screen Night is limited to what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, and nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, and disputes go to the courts there, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
When these terms are updated, the effective date at the top of the page changes with them. If a change matters to how you use Screen Night, we’ll say so in the app. Continuing to use Screen Night after a change means you accept the updated terms.
